To display panoramas, QTVR is the format of choice for high quality and smooth panning.

QTVR is a format developed by Apple as part of the QuickTime technology. QuickTime is available as a free plug-in.

VR objects can also be displayed with QTVR.

Flash cannot display VR panoramas 'properly'. If you have seen a virtual tour done in Flash, the panoramas were simply 'flattened' (the perspective is therefore not correct).

But Flash can be used as an interface to launch windows containing QTVR panoramas.

VR objects can be displayed nicely in Flash.

Java can also be used to display panoramas but the quality and the resolution are not as high as QTVR (by far).

It can be an alternative for a low resolution version of a QTVR virtual tour.
